What's the Matter with the Clothes I'm Wearin'?

We've finally finished the month of August, and I feel like we're getting a bit of a slow start on September, but the planner is full, so hopefully I'll make it through the next three weeks without having time to pull my hair out.

David:  He seems to have started talking a ton this past week or two.  He loves Thomas the train, Big Hero 6, and Chuggington, and asks to watch them by name, which baffles me.  He's way too smart.  He loves peanut butter sandwiches and strawberry milk, and is still doing awesome about sleeping in the twin size bed set up in Ezekiel's room.  I don't know if it would work so well if he were sharing a room with Caleb since he's such a light sleeper and Caleb keeps himself awake late into the night jabbering if he gets any semblance of a nap during the day, so we'll see what happens as far as sleeping arrangements go after the baby is born.

Caleb:  He's been ornery, but also very helpful the past week.  Yesterday morning Byron wanted to do one of the "small" tasks on my nesting to do list, and started cleaning out the pantry so he could move it into a corner of the dining room.  Caleb helped clean out all the shelves, tried to help carry it over to the corner I wanted it in, then helped put everything back.  Of course I always let my projects snowball, so I soon had Caleb taking down all our magnets and papers then spraying the fridge and helping me wipe his and David's handprints off while Byron made his way around the perimeter of the floor with a magic eraser and the vacuum.  The kitchen floor and the face of the fridge look amazing and it was adorable to hear Caleb saying "I like being a big helper" over and over while doing chores with us.

Byron:  He was excited to get his bicycle back Friday night. He didn't miss it quite as much as normal since a friend at church lent him one while it was being worked on, but he was still glad to have his own back since he's more accustomed to the way it maneuvers.  He had a couple of slow days at work since he was responsible for compiling the monthly report, but we made up for it by letting one of the young women from our ward (I say "let" because she was begging every time I saw her) come and babysit the boys while we went on Byron's belated birthday date.  He picked Schlotzky's Deli for dinner, then we made our way to a local park and played games.  It was fun, but we definitely would have done better with a game other than Bananagrams since I kept dropping pieces through the slots of the picnic table.

Arielle:  Overall I've had a fairly productive week seeing as all I want to do is have this baby. hahahaha. I had a good time helping teach the activity day girls how to make woven headbands, and ran some errands while Byron and Caleb were at soccer practice. I had a reassuring OB appointment and have even been whittling away (with Byron) at my nesting projects for the house. Today was a little rough, I was uncomfortable and irritable, which makes for a combination that doesn't induce the most reverent feelings, and almost didn't go to church, but Byron was patient with me and last minute I managed to pull myself together, found a clean and church worthy dress (I can't wear any maternity pants at this point, and live in dresses) andI'm so glad I did.  Sacrament meeting was rough since David didn't get his nap in, and the building was like a sauna since we're the last of three wards, but Relief Society was wonderful and I definitely felt the Spirit while discussing with fellow sisters Lehi's dream and the Tree of Life versus the Mist of Darkness.  I am so grateful for our incredible presidency and the lessons they provide for us, and for a loving Heavenly Father that is so willing to give us promptings even if we may not be listening as well as we should.

In General:  The whole family is anxious to meet baby Ezekiel, Even David notices the babies around him and when I ask if he's going to hug his baby brother he says, "yes."  Caleb asks every day if Ezekiel is done growing yet and if today will be the day he'll "pop out" (if only labor were that easy haha), while I think Byron is looking forward to not suffering second hand from my pregnancy hormones. ;)  I'm a bit of a bear the last month.  Poor man.

I suppose that's all the news for our family this week.  We hope you're all doing well and loving life!

David loves getting his hands on Granny's camera

This is from our vacation but I really wanted to post it because David does this all the time.  He loves putting his forehead on ours and smiling at us, which is adorable, and slightly sentimental since Byron and I did this all the time when we were dating. <3

Caleb loves playing with the little marble works kit we have

The new puppy my parents got! He's an American Eskimo/Pomeranian mix and the funnest little dog to be around!
