Honeybear

We've had a lot going on, and I really got into writing in my journal again so I haven't been taking the time to send out updates.  Here are a few highlights from what we've been up to.

In October we suffered a miscarriage.  We had not been planning on another baby just yet, but were thrilled when we discovered we were expecting and heartbroken when we lost the baby.  We are so very grateful for the plan of salvation, and the peace we find within it, knowing we'll get to meet that sweet spirit in the world to come.

Just a week or so after that Mom and Dad Boulton came through on their way to Connecticut and spent a few days with us.  The boys were overjoyed to have them here.  They're so great about playing with the kiddos and always bring great stories and laughter.  They brought along a new ladder ball game they had built for the boys that Byron loves just as much as they do, as well as some adorable pajamas Grandma had made for each of them.  They love wearing them and Caleb keeps drawing pictures and thank you notes (that I keep failing to send, I'm so sorry!).  They are by far his favorite clothes right now.

They got to stop and spend the night with us again the following weekend and we felt terrible that they had to come back this way after getting a little over 2 hours into their trip to get Dad's computer back.  I really need to clean up the clutter so we don't miss important things like that!

Caleb finished up his soccer season for the year.  He loved his practices, played really well in the first half of his games (most of the time) but was most excited about getting a trophy.  Unfortunately it is already broken to pieces and found it's way to the trash while he was out trick-or-treating.

One of the neighbors that lives catty-corner behind us were done with a swing set they had purchased several years ago for their grandchildren, so they contacted Byron and asked if we wanted it.  Byron arranged to get it over the fence one night while I was at a Mary Kay girls night and Caleb and David can't get enough of it.  We'll have to take the attachments off soon and store them for winter, but they're enjoying it while they can.

We had a great time attending my parents trunk-or-treat this year, and Caleb was so exited to dress up and go out trick or treating, in years past Byron has only taken him out for about 30-45 minutes, but this year he made it the whole 2 hours.  He dressed as a pilot in his Top Gun costume from his various array of play clothes, and David was the cutest fireman in town.  Ezekiel got the cutest Mickey Mouse costume from my mom, and Byron and I even dressed up this year.  Byron's work had a costume contest so he pieced together an Indiana Jones Costume and even showed off his skills with his bull whip during their lunch hour.  I had gotten a cat ear headband for $1 and just pulled together a cat costume.  Ezekiel and I looked pretty cute together.  I always fail to take pictures of everyone dressed up since I always just kind of throw things together last minute, but my mom took a cute one of Ezekiel and I together that I'll share below.

We have been pet sitting for my parents while they've been in Utah and Idaho, they're having a blast on their trip, and we have liked having their dogs so much we decided to get one of our own.  Her name is Honeybear.  We know she is a chow, but she might be a mutt, there's no sure way of knowing.  She's super furry, and quiet, loves to look out the big front window, and we absolutely love her.

Ezekiel is walking
David is laughing and loving on Honeybear.
Caleb is doing a slow fall off my bed trying to get a lego he dropped
Byron is working, and playing his french horn again.
I voted this morning
We all love all of you and are so grateful for having each of you in our lives.

Keep in touch.  We miss you.

One morning the boys and I spent the WHOLE morning building with legos.
So much fun, seriously....

My sister Gabby taught me the proper way to do a fishtail braid.
I'm still trying to get the hang of it...

Caleb hates getting dirty,
so he went and grabbed my makeup remover as soon as I was done getting a picture of this.

David loving the "cozy" sheets he picked out

I think Caleb was even more excited about his.

Byron made a toke (sp?) for the boys

Ezekiel loves wearing hats.

My parents other dog, Ewok, that acts more like a cat.

Another picture of Honeybear.
Fun Fact: Chow's originated in China and their name translates in English to
"Fluffy Lion Dog"

We took the boys out for a fun day at Young's Dairy
This was the "hayride"

The corn maze, David was pretty tired by the end of it.

Caleb has to be able to pick up the pumpkin by himself...

He likes the really big ones

Waiting for icecream!
