This is a post for November 17th
through the 23rd. It will probably be pretty short since
I have a hard time remembering everything that we did from that far
back, and I thought about just doing a 2 week post, but decided not
to. Thanks for reading :)
David:
He's the cutest little baby, and I know I say this every week, but
he is such
a great sleeper. I am so grateful for him. I love his smiles and
his chatter, I love his tiny little hands and his blue eyes. I am
truly looking forward to seeing the man he will grow up to be, but
for the time being I'm just enjoying every second of his infancy. He
is such a blessing in my life and I wouldn't trade him for anyone or
anything.
Caleb:
He's getting bigger and more capable. He's too smart for me
sometimes and I went downstairs to find messes on several different
occasions. One of those time he had managed to pull my step stool
over to the counter and climbed into my baking cabinet above my sink.
He pulled out a box of matches and I spent the next 15 minutes
trying to get all 300 of those little buggers back into their box.
He's figured out how to get his bedroom door open, so nap time takes
a lot longer to happen, but I must admit it's kind of cute when he
walks into our bedroom at night saying “Hi, Hi” with a proud
smile on his face after getting the door open, yet again. Byron and
I have talked about getting the big plastic handles that keep
toddlers from being able to get their door open, but Byron likes that
he can get himself out of his room in the morning, so we've decided
to just put him back in bed each time he gets out. We also like the
idea that he'll learn for
himself to stay in bed instead of being forced to go to bed.
Byron:
He's the best husband ever. He works hard, provides for his family,
never complains, always has a smile on his face, and tolerates all my
mood swings better than I think I do. He's always willing to learn
and is great at teaching Caleb new things. I love watching him be a
daddy and how excited he gets over the growth of our adorable babies.
He hasn't had much going on this week, just work and regular family
life. He seems to be loving it all though.
Arielle:
Wednesday morning my Mommy
and Daddy came over and helped me get a lot of yard work done. When
we moved in they helped us cut back all of the trees in our front
yard but Byron and I never got around to breaking down all the sticks
and limbs so they were sitting in piles on and around our back porch,
so they came and did a lot of work for us breaking them all down and
tieing them into nice little bundles that we can just bring into the
house and put in the fireplace. They're so great and our yard is
starting to look so much
better. Thursday
I went out with some friends for lunch to celebrate a birthday for my
friend Heather. We had wanted to go to this great little place in
Centerville but the owner didn't show up in time (it's only open
during lunch hours and is a small family owned business so those
hours can vary from day to day) so we went to Panera instead. It was
nice getting to chat with friends and Caleb kept me on my toes trying
to run all over the place. I
did some shopping with my mommy on Friday for Thanksgiving, and spent
some time at home trying to get some more in depth cleaning done so
we wouldn't have a ton to do over the weekend, but I don't think it
really worked out. Friday night I helped my Mommy and Grandma host
a baby shower for a friend of hers who recently adopted a special
needs toddler from the Ukraine. He's a sweet looking little boy who
will need a lot of help in the years to come and we just wanted to
recognize and celebrate that she had added such a sweet spirit to her
family and give her a night out with some friends. We played some
fun games and had too much to eat, but I thoroughly enjoyed being
there.
In General:
Our evenings have been pretty busy. Sunday we celebrated Alyssa's
birthday again with her homemade birthday dinner and cupcakes. It
was nice spending time with family and I loved eating cupcakes since
I hadn't eaten any of the ones I had made the
previous weekend. Wednesday
evening Byron and I mowed the grass and raked some leaves to start
winterizing the yard. Thursday
night Byron and I went out for Panera on our date. When we were done
eating we walked around the new TJ Maxx and Home Goods that is about
5 minutes away from our house. We didn't get anything, but had fun
walking around and went to Jack's Pets for a quick minute to see if
they happened to have any dogs since we're starting to look for one.
We aren't interested in a puppy, but would like to have a full size
dog that's house broken that Caleb can grow up with. Byron would
like a miniature schnauzer, and I'd like a golden retriever/lab mix
but I'm not sure I like how much they shed. We've been looking at a
little bit of everything though and we'll see what happens. Saturday
we went to the Christmas in Springboro festival and had a fun time
watching the parade, freezing our buns off and eating peanut butter
fudge. We got our bag of kettle corn before heading out and went to
our favorite mexican restaurant for lunch when they didn't have the
steak tip dinners we wanted at the festival. It worked out really
well though since we both happened to pick items from their $4.99
lunch specials and Caleb enjoyed wolfing down a plate of rice. It
amazes me how much he can eat. Byron helped me clean the carpets on
the main level this week in preparation for Thanksgiving and I'm
getting ssooo excited!
| He loves putting on my shoes and walking around the house. He had even managed to get them on the correct feet and walk downstairs in them that day. |

| He wanted to help me rake leaves but liked my rake better than his own that day. |

Here's a link if you care, I adapted the line to fit my needs :)
