I'm a Big Kid Now

This week has absolutely flown by.  I can't believe how fast life seems to be moving, even when we don't have anything going on.

David:  He continues to be the most perfect baby ever.  He slept through the night two or three times this week, is smiling at everyone, and lets me get a nap almost every day! He's such a sweet little marshmallow and I just can't get enough of him. <3

Caleb:  We started potty training this week! Tuesday we had a few accidents, half of one on the floor (he caught himself and went to his potty chair) and a few more when he put underwear on.  WHen I figured out he was putting them on so he could go in them, I stopped letting him put them on and we didn't have anymore problems.  As far as I can tell, as long as he's naked, he's potty trained because the other days we had some potty training time, he stayed naked and we didn't have any accidents. Woo hoo!  We're getting there hahahahaha.  I also learned this week that he has developed some jealousy towards David, but since I've been spending regular time with him during David's morning nap, he's been eating better, he's less inclined to hit when he doesn't get his way, and he's been going down for his naps and getting to bed on time!  He's also figured out how to get his shoes on and likes to take his shoes and socks off and put his socks on his hands when they get cold.  I tried to get some mittens to keep this from happening, but they never seem to be around then I need them so I haven't been able to stop him from taking them off almost every time we get in the car.

Byron:  He's been working hard this week on some top secret project that he has to constantly go into the "black box" (a super secure room he doesn't even have a pass code for) while at work.  He doesn't act like he can't talk about it, but the room sounds pretty serious, so he's been a little more out of reach than I'm accustomed to.  He loves riding his bike to and from work, and I think he may enjoy it even more now that the weather is cooler since he doesn't have to pack a change of clothes or sweat it out after he gets home before I'll come near him. :)  Tuesday Byron had a scout meeting and they started planning this month's camp out.  I'm glad I won't have to go, since it will be freezing cold, but Byron's not as reluctant to go as I expected him to be.

Arielle:  Monday I got to go out to lunch with my mom and her/our friend Sandra.  We enjoyed some Chinese food and chatting about everything and Caleb liked trying to run around after getting his fill of rice. :)  Tuesday I ran some errands with my Mommy before going to Englewood where I met with a guy on craigslist who was selling me a used sprint phone.  Byron and I switched carriers this week to a company called Ting that also runs on the Sprint network, and while I thought I was only going to be able to get one from him, he actually has a small side business selling used electronics and was able to get one for both of us.  The rest of the week I tried to quarantine myself to the house to get Caleb potty trained.  I was shooting for getting him into big boy underwear by Sunday, which didn't happen, but I've accomplished other things so I'm not feeling too shabby.  I've missed spending time with my Mommy every day, and Alyssa complains that I don't come over often enough when she's home, which is almost never due to her work schedule, but it will all be worth it in the end.  I also deleted my facebook account this week.  It's been weird not logging on to check what people are up to, and even weirder not posting a link to the blog on it, but I spend much less time online now and don't miss it much...yet. hahaha

In General:  This week has been pretty great.  Monday night we picked up Chandler and went to the end of season soccer party.  Byron got a Panera gift card as his coach gift and is feeling a little spoiled.  The boys pizza buffet was paid for by their sponsor and I'm pretty sure the restaurant made bank that night.  11 and 12 year old boys really know how to pack it away.  Friday night my parents watched Caleb and David and let us go on a fabulous date to the Melting Pot.  It's a great fondue restaurant in Centerville and we had a great time.  Since it was just the two of us they took us to a cozy little booth in the back of the restaurant where we could hear the people on either side of us, but none of us could see each other.  The food was delicious and it was fun being there with the love of my life, although had it not been for a groupon, we never would have gone.  It's so expensive!  Saturday we made ourselves busier than we really had planned on being.  The bishop called and asked if Byron could help last minute with a family moving into our ward boundaries.  I didn't want to be stuck at home for an indefinite amount of time so we both drove over there with the plan that I would just take the boys to the store while Byron stayed to help, but he came back out after about 5 minutes (I had been nursing David.  He eats non-stop) and said they were already done.  I asked him to check and see if they would like us to bring them dinner tonight so he went back in and wasn't coming back, so I walked up to the house (Caleb was quite ready for the car to start moving) and it turns out the husband is one of my old friends brother's!  I had never met him before, but they have 2 boys, the older one is about 5, they have a son about 2 weeks younger than Caleb and she's due again in February with their 3rd boy.  She seems super nice and I'm looking forward to having another playmate for Caleb!  After an attempt at an early naptime for Caleb we went to a double baptism for two 8 year olds in our ward then hit the grocery store.  The rest of our evening was eaten up by dinner and family time at home.  Today we had wonderful church meetings, Byron finally shaved off the 6 days of growth he had gotten for "no shave November" and I made home made pizza for dinner and my parents and siblings came to help us eat it.

Byron with his attempt at No-shave November.  Caleb really wanted to be in the picture with him.

Caleb wanted to wear my apron.

My little stud muffin <3

My sisters think my house is "cozy"

Trying to put on a second pair of underwear.

Potty training the first day.  I helped him put the first pair on and he put the other 2 on by himself.

Spending time with Aunt Alyssa (whom Caleb calls Lolly) during her break at work. :)

my chubby cheeked baby!

The title for this week's blog came from the Huggies Pull Ups Jingle.  If you're unfamiliar with it, you can watch it at the link below. :)
