Bum Scootin' Baby

So this one will be a little out of the ordinary, just so I can write a quick blurb about last week and get my posts back up to date.

**Just a quick note** The last blog that was emailed to those of you on my email list, was incomplete and didn't have the pictures. If you wish to see the pictures and read the complete post, just click on the link in your email to my blog and it should show the whole post.  Sorry for the inconvenience!

March 17-22:  We had a pretty standard week, but we got to have some fun.  Thursday night we had our elders for dinner with a couple from church that stayed for games and socializing.  Friday night we had a family from our ward come for dinner and games so we could spend time with them before they moved to Tennessee, and Saturday we went for dinner and games with our friends from the Centerville ward.  She made corned beef and cabbage, something I had never had before, and it was surprisingly good.  I don't think I could ever bring myself to make it, but it was fun to try something new, and Caleb liked having friends to play with who taught him how fun dominoes can be when thrown against walls and wood flooring (thank goodness ours are too high for him to reach!)

David: While he still refuses to roll over to get around, he has recently decided that scooting along the floor on his bum is quite effective.  Byron made a short video to show me of him rocking back and forth fast enough that he scootched about 4 feet to get to the cheerios under the table. Even though he hasn't gone that far since, Byron keeps putting things out of reach hoping he'll do it again.  He's still the easiest baby in the world, gives the most heart warming smiles, and I am so grateful every day for his sweet spirit.

Caleb:  He's been my little sick-o this week.  He woke up with croup in the middle of the night on Tuesday and Byron was a wonderful husband and stayed up with him, making it easier for him to breath, then spending the rest of the night in his bed, and working from home that morning so I could still go work with my mom as an assistant for one of her preschools.  The croup seems to have dissipated, but he still coughs a lot and has a lot of boogers.  I'll be taking him to the doctor tomorrow afternoon, but in the meantime, we're just praying he gets better quickly.

Byron:  He hasn't really talked much about work this week.  I guess the highlight was when 2 of his co-workers brought in donuts, muffins, and bagels to celebrate University of Dayton's men's basketball team making it into the sweet 16.  He's been riding his bicycle, but hasn't been getting up to exercise in the morning since we keep staying up too late, but hopefully we'll both get back on track this week.  He gave a talk in sacrament meeting today and did a wonderful job, then took Caleb and David home since Caleb's nose was running something fierce and he was cranky to boot.

Arielle:  The spring cleaning bug has bitten and I am so ready for sunny, 70 degree weather so I can clean out my garage, purge my house, and have a yard sale.  I got the toy room done with Byron on Thursday evening and every time I look at it, my resolve to do the rest of the house strengthens.  It may take me all of Spring, but it will be so worth it.  I haven't exercised at all this week, and I have been so sore.  I'm getting back on track tomorrow morning though and am looking forward to the energy and happy endorphin rush that I get when I'm exercising regularly.  Yesterday I enjoyed going to the first annual Women's broadcast, which was for all the girls at church, worldwide, ages 8 and up.  Having girls there that were so young brought such a special spirit to the atmosphere and I was reminded yet again of how important the children of the world are and what a huge responsibility we have as parents to teach and prepare them for the things to come.  I am so grateful I have such a great support system through my family and fellow sisters at church to help me teach my children everything Heavenly Father wants them to know.

In General:  Our evenings were pretty boring.  We didn't do much at all until Friday when we got Chandler to come babysit for us and went out on a date.  Byron had never been to the Greene so after dinner, we went there and walked around for a while.  He enjoyed being outside and soaking up the atmosphere of the Greene, and we picked up a puzzle at the bookstore that we're looking forward to working on together.  It's not anything super big or fancy, but it should be really pretty when we're finished.

Well, that's all our news for this week.  I'm finally caught up again, and hope to stay this way.  We love each and every one of you. Cheerio!

He pushed himself forward a little bit and eventually managed to get the car and play with it

He fell asleep trying to play with his foot

Happy Birthday Roger!
