David: He's such a sweet little soul. There isn't much new in his world, except yogurt. He is sitting up really well, and loves to watch the world around him while playing with toys. Today he had a sick stomach or something and ended up spewing on his Aunt Lolli, but seems to be over it and went to bed without a problem after nursing.
Caleb: I think I have fallen in love with him yet again this week. He started saying "Love you" this week. Monday was the first time it happened, while he was talking to Byron, and it was absolutely darling. He enjoyed some Daddy bonding time last Saturday during the beautiful spring-like weather, and has taken a nap every single day this week. We've set a record! This past week he started saying please and thank you voluntarily. It makes it a lot harder to tell him no, but I've managed to stay strong and not spoil him rotten. He had a rude awakening one morning when I gave him breakfast (usually Byron does) and instead of letting him have a little bit of everything he had to eat the bowl of cereal I poured first, but he didn't complain about breakfast the rest of the week, so at least it did some good. He can open the fridge and freezer and tries to help himself to chocolate pudding and ice cream whenever the mood strikes him, but fortunately he can't serve himself yet, so he hasn't gotten away with it yet. The funniest thing happened today during church though. He came out to the foyer during sacrament meeting because he was having a hard time sitting still and being reverent. While sitting in my lap, he took his shoes off, then proceeded to take off my sparkly high heels, put them on himself, and walked the entire length of the primary hallway without falling on his face. I think he does better in them than I do.
Byron: Monday of last week (president's day) he had the day off work. He was excited to join the pickle ball players at the Y while I walked on the treadmill and made my day by letting me run a few errands child-free. While I was out he did some chores around the house and found a raccoon in the trash can! Fortunately nothing bad happened, but he got a good scare, and had a funny story to share when I got home. Friday the snow had all melted and the weather was sunny and a beautiful 50 something degrees, so he rode his bicycle to work. He was pretty excited. :) Unfortunately the good weather didn't last, so he was getting rides most of the week, but at least that means he gets home a little sooner. This past week he hasn't had much happen. One of his co-workers left the company to go live out of his SUV and go rock climbing whenever he wants, and Byron said the office has been a bit quieter without him there.
Arielle: I'm doing alright. Last week I was far more successful in reaching my weight loss goal for my weigh in on Wednesday and was surprised to see the scale did go down even after Valentine's weekend splurges. I hosted a Thrive party Thursday night and had a good time chatting with friends and introducing them to such an awesome company. I can't wait to put my order in and finally start working on getting real food storage for my family. :) This past week I've been spending more time at my parents house again. I need to finish putting baseboards down in the bedroom and paint the door, but I can't bring myself to get it done. Hopefully I'll be able to finish it before our company arrives next week though. I just need to get it in gear again. I didn't expect it to take this long, so I think I'm just feeling a little burnt out.
In General: We haven't done all the much out of the ordinary I guess. Friday night Byron took me out on a date. We went to Wendy's for dinner since I was in the mood for a hamburger and had the calories to spare, then we went to the mall to see if the place where I got his wedding band was still there. It wasn't, but we had a good time walking around and were so excited to find Alyssa had gotten both boys to sleep before we got home. Saturday I went and helped a new friend go pick out paint for her house while Byron was hiking with his boy scouts, then dropped the boys off at home with him and went to help her paint. The wall we got done turned out really well considering we had 2 little helpers ages 5 and 7, and she's thrilled with it, so overall the day was a win. After spending the day trying to help her get things done, Byron brought the boys over to help her husband install some built in shelves he made for his daughters' closet, and I helped her make dinner. We joined them for dinner with their missionaries, then tried to help clean up before heading home. They're such a fabulous family and such a huge blessing. Last Sunday we enjoyed our church meetings before coming home and making homemade bread to take with us to dinner that night. We once again got to enjoy the company of the Davis family, and played some fun games after eating great food. This past week seems to have been much busier, but for the most part, it was just errands. Friday night Byron took me out on a date last minute and I wasn't feeling well since I had eaten really spicy food for lunch (I had forgotten how badly spicy food hurt my stomach until that day) so I wasn't feeling up for much, but I think the dairy in my smoothie neutralized whatever had been bothering me, and the rest of the evening was much more enjoyable. Yesterday we had some friends from our ward over for dinner and games. I made chicken enchiladas for the first time and everyone ate too much, but we had fun and are looking forward to doing it again next month. Today we had my family and the Davis family over for dinner and games. Once again there was a ton of food, but everyone was happy and we got to learn how to play a new card game, so that was fun.
Well, I guess that's all the news we have around here. Hope you all have a fun and safe week! We love you all, Cheerio!

ReplyDeleteThanks Katrina, it's been discouraging at times, but to see weight coming off feels great, and I love the idea of fitting into sizes I haven't worn since high school. I just finished reading your blog and I'm so excited to have you back in Ohio! I know it's months away, but I love having you close.
