It's been nearly 3 weeks since I've posted a blog, and even longer since I've posted a family update, but I'm going to keep this manageable and just include things I feel are worth reading.
Ezekiel: The Monday after he was born I took him to his post-hospital follow up appointment. The nurse practitioner told me that he had a really tight frenulum (for others who have no idea what that is, it's the thing that connects from your tongue to the bottom of your mouth), and when she said "tight" she meant it was connected all the way to the tip of his tongue, which was why nursing was so incredibly painful! She was able to clip it there in the office, and the effect was immediate. Within a day I wasn't gasping when he latched on to eat, and it's been better since. :) Aside from that, he is quite literally our bundle of joy. He brings us so much happiness. He sleeps well, eats even better, and smiles pretty often, so that always melts my heart.
David: He's growing so fast. He's hit the terrible two's with a vengeance and screams louder than I thought possible, but he's also our best sleeper. He takes a 2 hour nap every single afternoon and goes right to bed at 7:30. His smile and laughter are incredibly infectious, and he's really fun to sit and talk to when I have a minute. He still loves dogs, playing with trains, and eating anything with sugar in it.
Caleb: Ezekiel is his pride and joy. The first Sunday we took Ezekiel to church my visiting teaching companion was holding him and was quite possessive. Caleb got really clingy and kept telling her "That's my baby" He was quite concerned that she was going to try to take him home and kept asking me "Is Ezekiel coming back home with us?"
2 weeks ago he scored in soccer! He got 2 goals during the game and would have gotten a third but missed the net by just a couple of feet. He was so excited and still tells everyone about it if soccer comes up.
His primary program was a couple of weeks ago and it was so fun to see him in it. He was kind of crazy, jumping around and spinning and making faces, but he sang every once in a while and made us laugh, so it was worth it.
He likes to bargain for things, so part of his bedtime routine is Byron asking him what he's staying in bed for and Caleb coming up with something he wants to do, that's worth not staying up and "hanging out" for. Sometimes his answers are simple, like riding his bike or playing in the sand box, sometimes they're cute things like getting to go on a date with Byron or going to "The library store" (the book store) and other times they are downright outrageous. My favorite so far though has been staying in bed for a "roller skating birthday party, with pizza!"
Byron: He took 4 and a half days off work when I had Ezekiel and it was so wonderful having him home. It was really hard to let him go back, but I know he was getting antsy. He loves riding his bike in the cooler temperatures we've been enjoying the past couple of weeks, is doing a lot of documentation at work right now, which isn't his favorite, but his annual performance review went really well and he is so happy with his job.
He's been wonderful the past three weeks, literally at my beck and call every minute of the day since bringing our little Ezekiel home, and I'm so grateful for the sacrifices he makes for our family. It's hard trying to readjust and find time to spend together with a new baby and a new schedule, but he's looking forward to taking me to the temple again, and I must admit I'm looking forward to it as well. :)
Arielle: My life is wonderful. I feel so incredibly blessed every single time I look at my boys. My heart is so full of love and gratitude and I can't imagine anything better than what I have now.
In General: Life is perfect. my boys are healthy and strong, my husband is happy and kind, and I feel so incredibly blessed all of the time. My parents have been such an incredible source of support. My mommy has come over just to take the boys for a so I could grab a shower, holds Ezekiel while I get things done that I want to and has let me come over and crash her whole morning just so Caleb and David can get a change of scenery and play with different toys. I am so grateful for her and my Daddy and how much easier they're making the transition from 2 to 3 children.
We're really looking forward to Mom and Dad Boulton coming in a few short weeks to spend a couple of days with us as well. We got to skype them for a few minutes this morning, but with Caleb and David running around like hooligans, the speakers cutting out on our end, and Ezekiel wanting to be fed, it didn't go very smoothly. It will be much nicer to have them here in person. :)
I am also incredibly grateful for the support our ward has given us. The Relief Society organized for 2 meals to be brought in, but with my incredible parents feeding us all the time and the other friends that volunteered to bring dinner in I've rarely had to make dinner, and my kitchen has been cleaned twice by friends who dropped by to see the baby and stayed to socialize and help me out. We've been given some beautiful pictures of Ezekiel, baby sitting bucks for free baby sitting from the Young Women, and my friend Saundra gave me the confidence to try freezer meals, so Byron and I put together 2 weeks of freezer meals one night last week, and I'm looking forward to the ease with which I'll be able to make dinner the rest of this month.
I suppose that's all I have to write about for now. I've included some pictures that I hope you'll all enjoy. We love you all!
David was so happy to have Ezekiel home!
Grandma and Grandpa Wilson got to meet Ezekiel when they came up for the weekend for soccer games and primary programs.
David keeps trying to use my pump
All dressed up for the primary program!
This is pretty much how Caleb copes with getting up early for family scriptures and prayer.
These 2 are inseperable
Quality snuggle time with daddy
Ezekiel's thumbs are double jointed
My mom offered to take pictures of the boys at her preschool last week. Ezekiel looked like such a little man!
I was really impressed my Mommy got this since David wouldn't sit still for more than 10 seconds at a time.
We went to the zoo this weekend and the boys rode the carousel with Byron. David didn't like it, at all, and Caleb couldn't find me so he wasn't looking at the camera.
Caleb with his cute little soccer team.
Caleb about to score!
David loves getting baths and climbed into this one fully clothed. :)
