It Takes a Village

There is plenty to write about from the past two weeks, let's see how much of it I can remember.

We kept Father's Day pretty simple this year.  Byron got his breakfast in bed Saturday morning instead of Sunday, which means he got to sleep in and have breakfast in bed.  Then he went to help a family load their moving truck while I picked up my sister Amelia to come and spend the day with us. That evening Amelia stayed with the boys while Byron and I went out for dinner before going to the adult session of our stake conference.  I think that might be my favorite session right now since my kids aren't there to distract me and I get to listen to all of the messages.

On Sunday we went to stake conference in Englewood then came home and I made a couple of different desserts to take to my parents house for Father's Day dinner.  My mommy made an amazing stake and potato dinner and had pecan and apple pie in addition to the banana cream and cherry pies i made.  Grandma and Grandpa Lane got to come for dinner that night too and it was so fun playing Scattegories with them.

I had another OB appointment and finally remembered to ask how big I was measuring.  at 28 weeks I'm measuring at 34, and he said everything looks and sounds good. The twins are measuring on course for their gestational age and I passed my glucose test which I was really nervous about since they had warned me my chances of doing so were slim since I have twice as much placenta, so I'm a happy camper.

The babies are getting big enough I always feel Gideon as he moves around and the boys laugh when they get to see my belly jump around with his kicks and rolls.  Hannah is a little harder to feel since she's lower, but it's still possible and is such a treat.

Last week I finally made it to our ward playgroup again and my kids actually played in the splash pad for the first time ever.  In years past they've always all ended up on the playground and avoided getting wet at all costs, but I think that making showers a nightly occurrence instead of just whenever I remembered to do it they're finally accustomed to getting their faces wet and had a ton of fun!

That night we went on a family date to see Cars3 at the drive-in theater and had so much fun.  Katrina's family met us there and we got to play and chat while waiting for the movie to start.  I always love any opportunity to hold her sweet baby Copeland and Caleb and David were super impressed by the glow in the dark bracelets Katrina had brought for the kids.  The movie was really cute and we all really enjoyed it.

The boys continue getting to enjoy time with their aunts and uncles throughout the week.  Tuesday Gabrielle took them and all 4 of our youngest siblings out for a day packed full of fun.  They went to 2 different parks, had a picnic, went swimming, and were all wiped out and ravenous when they got home for dinner.  They all ate without complaint and fell asleep within 15 minutes of laying down.  She is seriously awesome and so good at wearing out my kids.

Last Saturday my Mommy, Aunt Elizabeth, and friend Heather hosted a beautiful baby shower for me.  There was tons of yummy food and amazing friends and family that came to celebrate the twins with us. The games my mommy planned for us to play were super fun and really cute, she definitely has a knack for throwing parties that are fun for everyone. Everyone was so generous and kind and I just felt so loved.  I am so constantly grateful for the amazingly supportive family members and friends that I have been blessed with.  Fortunately my mommy is a shutter bug so I have a ton of pictures and a code for a photo book so I'll get to keep the memories of the amazing women who came to support me, but there are only a few included in the blog.

Well, I guess that's all the news we have to share.  I hope you're all doing well and staying happy and healthy.  We love you!

My beautiful Aunt Liz provided the beautiful decorations for the baby shower. <3

My amazing mommy has been working hard making beautiful gifts for Gideon and Hannah.  These are the blankets she cable crocheted for each of them.

My incredibly Mommy! She planned and prepared such a beautiful shower that everyone got to enjoy.  I am so grateful for her generosity and the example she sets for me.

My friend Sarah, she happens to be due with a baby boy at the same time I'm due with the twins.  Her bump is way smaller and so cute!

Yummy "Tiny food"
There were stacks of mini pancakes, donut holes, pizza rolls, mini BBQ sandwiches, mini corn dogs, tiny yogurt parfaits, delicious watermelon bits shaped like hearts, and tiny quiches.  So fun, and REALLY delicious!

It got a little crazy so I missed getting a picture with Gabrielle, but she was such a huge help and is just a wonderful sister.  <3

I also missed getting to have my picture taken with my dear friend Heather, who hosted all of these lovely people in her gorgeous home and is an amazing friend!

These are the beautiful quilts Katrina made for Gideon and Hannah.

Caleb was so excited I made lounge pants with paw patrol on them!

Ezekiel has also been bitten by the chess bug that's making its rounds in the family.

He was super tired after a fun day and fell asleep on my face.

He begged and begged to wear Daddy's bow tie, but when he finally got it on this was the face he made. Stinker

Daddy and Granny spent an evening at the park with these fun boys while I was at institute.

So in love with his sweet smile.  He can't wait to hold his baby brother and sister.

His little impish grin just melts my heart.  I love this sweet active boy!

David also got some new paw patrol lounge pants.  He and Caleb were both disappointed to learn I'm not as cool as Grandma Boulton and couldn't give them shirts with matching patches like the ones they got for Christmas. :P
