All Hands on Deck

So I believe it's been about 3 weeks since my last post, we've been staying super busy and it's been difficult to find time to sit and write.

My amazing sister Gabrielle has been a huge blessing the last couple of weeks, coming over frequently and giving the boys a summer to remember.  She takes them for walks and bike rides in the neighborhood, walks them to the park to play in the sand, lets them play and try to catch fish at the tiny pond in the back of our neighborhood, and took them on an adventure at one of the local nature parks this week where they got to walk a 1.5 mile trail and play in a creek.  They always have a blast and come home suuuuper tired.  David often falls asleep shortly before dinner after a fun day with Auntie Brie, so it makes it a little more difficult to get him to bed on time, but since she keeps them out of the house I often have the opportunity to take a nap, which makes it so much easier.

Chandler and Roger have been mowing the grass for me this summer and Chandler gets it done really fast.  Roger is enjoying learning how to mow, and doing surprisingly well for his age in my opinion, but is still working on going in straight lines so as not to miss any spots.  It's also a little challenging for him to get under the trees since he's too tall to just go straight under them, but doesn't have the arm length of a bigger person to do what Chandler and Byron do, but I've been impressed by his determination, and am so grateful for such helpful family.

Byron took Thursday and Friday off work last week to give me a 4 day weekend so we could get some more organization done before Hannah and Gideon come.  We've moved the twin bed back out of the boys room and set Ezekiel's crib up there again.  We are hoping this well help him get used to the big boy bed time routine before we try making him sleep in a bed that doesn't trap him anymore.  He's a very light sleeper, so the "let him fall asleep in his crib and wake up in a big bed" method that we used for David and Caleb just wasn't working.

Thursday morning we finally finished cleaning out the garage.  We started it close to 3 moths ago, and never got back out there to finish the job, but having a whole day to do it instead of trying to squeeze it into an evening or Saturday afternoon, it was a little less overwhelming.  We got things put up on shelves, organized the bikes, made another trip to goodwill with a van load of stuff we don't need anymore, cleared a little bit of space in the storage shed in the backyard for yard tools, and are now able to get the van in the garage without having to pile up all the junk on the other side of the garage and give up access to everything out there.  The boys are thrilled there is even still a little bit of room for them to play with their bikes out there on rainy days.

We've also managed to tackle an ever growing mountain of laundry, clean out the laundry room, get the official tags on the van, went to an ultrasound, went on a date, cleaned out the toy room again, and I had hoped to tackle the kitchen, but I ran out of steam.  Byron stayed strong well weekend and continued by cleaning a few of the windows and cleaning bathrooms.  He is an incredible husband and I am so spoiled.

So that was long winded...in case you think I spend all my time sleeping and giving Byron Honey-Do lists, I promise we spend time being social too...

I got to go to a couple of baby showers last week.  One was for a sister in my ward that is due in August with a baby boy.  It was super fun to spend a morning chatting with friends and talking about babies.  They really are so exciting.  That same weekend we got to attend Eaton ward and witness Katrina's baby Copeland being blessed, then got to go to a birthday party for her daughter Grace.  The boys had a ton of fun playing with water swords, jumping on the trampoline, and playing in the kiddie pool.  The following day I got to attend a baby shower for my cousin Kitara, who lives in Texas, but is visiting Ohio and expecting her first baby (a sweet little girl!) Kitara and I have full term due dates just 1 day apart, so I have fun kind of tracking her pregnancy along with mine from a far.  I'm such a creeper hahaha.  Her baby shower was beautiful, and it was so fun getting to spend so much time with so many people I love.  Monday evening I attended a third baby shower for a friend of mine that is moving out of the ward this coming weekend.  She's pretty incredible and I know she'll be sorely missed, so I was glad there was an opportunity to celebrate her before she left.

In the past couple of weeks we also got to go to a crawfish boil at my Uncle Ben and Aunt Liz's house, which was a first for both Byron and I and was really fun.  I had a hard time learning how to get the meat out of the crawfish, but once I got the hang of it, I had a lot more fun.  The seasoning was so yummy and the corn was delicious.

Our ward celebrated Memorial Day with our annual pancake breakfast where the youth started a water fight again.  Watching some of our Sunbeams "sneak" across the playground with cups of ice water from the drink dispensers to throw at their parents was hilarious.

We had our amazing neighbors over for a cookout, and Caleb tried to play chess with them, a new hobby he is picking up from his Uncle Chandler.

Byron has helped unload 2 moving trucks and helped load 1.  There are 2 more moves scheduled this weekend but Byron will probably miss them since I promised him Saturday morning would be his Father's Day breakfast in bed and sleep in day.  We'll see if he decides to still try to make it though.

I got to go on a spontaneous Mommy date with Katrina, had 2 of the girls in my ward over to make hair bows and chat, and got to spend a couple of hours at my Aunt Liz's house while we painted nails and let the kids play in her backyard. I also have taken Gabrielle out to practice merging on and off highways, and to practice the maneuverability course before she tests to get her license tomorrow.  It will be so fun if she passes!

So, over all we're healthy, happy, and busy.  I love getting updates from everyone and reading about all the fun you're having with your summers.  I hope to hear more soon!

Uncle CJ helped Auntie Brie take them on their mile and a half hike last week.  Thez had so much fun'

Baby Bump!
Purple dress was 20 weeks and the white one was at 25 weeks.  We're currently at 27 weeks and it's becoming a little unreal just how quickly we're approaching their due date!

David was having a hard time falling asleep one evening after a late afternoon nap so Byron brought him out of the room so the other boys could fall asleep.  This is where he ended up crashing while Byron washed dishes.  Sadly I got rid of that dinosaur a couple of days later while purging the toy room (yet again), but at least they'll have a picture with it right?

Caleb feeling triumphant on his adventure with Auntie Brie and Uncle CJ

Ezekiel loves socks and was begging Byron to put some on him Sunday morning.  Apparently his feet are a little bit smaller than his Daddy's right now.

My gorgeous sister.  Seriously love her so much!

The boys being silly in Caleb's crazy large night shirt.  It also was hidden in the Goodwill pile over the weekend.  Thank goodness he hasn't missed it yet.

Caleb loves playing chess with Byron in the evenings and managed to fork (I think) Byron.

The tiniest praying mantis I've ever seen.  Byron found it while picking up some things from the yard over the weekend.

David loves his Auntie Brie!

We were the last appointment for the our tech last Friday but she had to stay in the office in case someone needed her, so she killed some time with us by giving us a short 3D ultrasound! Here is sweet Gideon!

Hannah was being a little more stubborn and wouldn't pull her hand away from her face, but I was so excited to see their cute faces! They each weigh around 2 lbs 4 oz and Hannah is head down, let's hope she stays that way!

We found this huge chair super cheap at a yard sale and love piling on it every night to read scriptures together and to occasionally watch a movie as a family.
