Come Back to Me by David Cook
Caleb: He's sweeter than ever and I fall more in love with him every day. He'll comfort me when I'm crying, pat my back when he's happy, and give great big hugs before bed and when he wakes up in the morning. He's starting to make noises that sound like phrases such as "I'm stuck" and "It fell" but they're not very coherent yet.
Byron: He's been working hard this week learning a bunch of new programming codes and such. He mowed the lawn again this week and has been getting weeds out of the flower beds for me (just yesterday he pulled out a ton of honeysuckle in one of the front flower beds and has been fighting the never-ending battle against the dandelions in the yard)
Arielle: I've had a wonderful week. I got to go on walks at Cox Arboretum 2 days this week with my Mommy, and managed to fit naps in on a couple afternoons as well. On Friday my mom and I went to the outdoor garden center at Meijer and she got me my Mother's Day gift - enough flowers and strawberry plants to fill my whole front flower bed, then she came to my house and planted them! In the pouring rain no less. Caleb slept away in the car and I got more and more excited just watching all the beautiful colors fill in my flower bed (we call it a starburst garden, you can see why in the pictures below). This morning Byron made me breakfast in bed and gave me a beautiful card and I got the handheld shower head I had asked for as my gift. (Weird gift I know, but it will make Caleb's showers so much more fun when he's not crying because the water is running right into his eyes.)
In General: Wednesday we had the opportunity to feed the missionaries. We made plans to have them for dinner and FHE sometime in the near future so we can invite one of Byron's co-workers over as well. Hopefully it will all work out. Friday night we hosted Alyssa's group date. It was 2 couples that played bigger and better, boys vs. girls, in our neighborhood since it's safer to walk around in than where my parents live. They came home with their "prizes" and the girls ended up with a vintage decorative lamp and pool noodle while the boys had managed to get their hands on an old artillery shell. Each team had gotten an odd assortment of items ranging from a 5 person beach towel, to car parts and even a traffic cone. They had a blast and came back for pizza and ice cream at the end of their date. It was a ton of fun to see how much fun they had and I love seeing my little sister on dates <3.
Baby David: He got a beautiful quilt from his Great-Aunt Dorothy this week (I guess it's more adorable) I love it though. She appliqued his name and a little rocket ship on it, and machine quilted a ton of stars all over it and a message that reads "When you hold Heavenly Father's hand, nothing is out of reach". I can't wait to use it. He's very active, especially first thing in the morning and late evening right before bed. Hopefully we're able to change that shortly after he's born hahaha. The doctor said he sounds great when I went to my OB appointment Friday morning.
I suppose that's all for this week. Byron and I are going to make dinner this evening and we got to talk to my brother David this afternoon (serving a mission in Sao Paulo Brazil). I love you all and hope that all the mother's in my life are having an equally splendid Mother's Day. Cheerio!!!

Funny thing about those honeysuckles--You're trying to get rid of them and I want them to grown. I want them to cover up my ugly chain-link fence. I've bought two plants and they both died.
ReplyDeleteSorry it took me so long to respond to this, all I could think of at first was "Who buys honey suckle?? It's so invasive" Then I realized that before it started taking over all the flower beds we would work so hard on, I loved it. Have you considered other climbing plants? Clematis seems to do really well in this area and would LOVE a chain link fence, I'm sure. It has really pretty flowers too. :)
