This Clock Never Seemed so Alive

I can't believe this week is already over.  I'm down to 8 weeks and 2 days in the pregnancy count down and I feel like there's still so much to be done.

Caleb: He's had a pretty marvelous week. He got a water gun this week (it was on clearance and it will make an excellent prop for his Halloween costume) so he's been enjoying carrying it around and saying “bee! bee!” trying to imitate the sound his Uncle Chandler makes whenever he squirts it. He's getting better at communicating and will verbally say yes and no now, but still just uses his head most of the time. We've started putting him to bed in his crib, but moving him to his big boy bed when we go to bed and opening his bedroom door after we wake up in the morning so he can come out on his own. I think he enjoys the freedom it gives him in the morning, and I certainly enjoy having a happy baby. :)

Byron: He started a new sub-project for the new one he got last week, and has been really busy at work. Thursday I guess a valve in the men's bathroom broke and was spraying water all over the place, so they had big fans running about half the day Thursday and all day Friday so his ears were pretty sensitive by the time he got home. Yesterday he finally got the chance to mow our lawn, and that of one of his home teaching families, so he figures it's alright he skipped exercising yesterday morning.

Arielle: I've been pretty lazy this week. I spent most of my afternoons getting naps and going to the pool with my parents and siblings, and mornings were spent with my Mommy. Monday afternoon I brought my sisters Alyssa and Gabrielle over and did a plaster of paris project with them that I had planned a few months ago. Wednesday afternoon a family from our old ward brought some boxes over to store in the garage while they move. Things have gotten a little hairy for them and they needed a little space to store things for about a week so Caleb had fun watching Brother Rush and the elders fill the garage. Friday morning I realized the nesting bug had bitten so my mommy came with me to Jo Ann's and I picked out fabric to make a cute taggie for my newest nephew and a blanket for baby David. We've also decided to dress Caleb as Megamind and Charlie as Metroman for Halloween so we looked at the fabrics and supplies we'll need to make their costumes. I must admit, I'm pretty excited about it.

Last Sunday I got to go to the worldwide broadcast they were holding for the 173 new mission presidents they have called.  It was such an incredible, inspiring broadcast and anyone who wasn't able to attend should definitely listen.

I felt such a great need to change the way I viewed missionary work.  I hope each of you will get something out of it as well.

In General: Tuesday I had my 31 week appointment. I picked up Byron from work and Alyssa came with us to the doctor's office (I had asked if she could babysit Caleb and Byron asked if she wanted to hear the baby's heart beat. She definitely jumped at the chance.) Friday night Byron and I got to go on a date! It wasn't anything exciting, dinner at chick-fil-a so we could use our coupon for a free milkshake, and then the library, but it was so nice getting to spend time with him and having someone else put Caleb to bed. Yesterday got surprisingly busy when Byron ended up mowing 2 lawns, we made a trip to the grocery, and watched children for our dinner guests before they were able to arrive (they were getting some last minute cleaning done at the house they were moving out of), but I got to start and finish the taggie I was making, so I figure the day went pretty well. :) Today is our last Sunday for the next 2 years on the 1-4 church schedule, and I am so excited. They're having a linger longer after church that we're planning on skipping, but next week we'll get to go from 9-12 and Caleb will get to have naptime at home! Yay!!!

Baby David: At my appointment on Tuesday the doctor said he was measuring perfectly. I also got to talk to him and he said I didn't need to take the second test for the gestational diabetes. I had lost a little weight since my last appointment so he believed me when I told him I had been more careful with the foods I was eating, and he said my levels were fine with Caleb so they weren't as worried as they would have been under different circumstances. So they're just going to keep an eye on David's growth since they don't want him to get too big (I warned him that our family just knows how to grow them. Caleb was nearly 9.5 lbs) I've had some braxton hicks contractions this week though and I feel like they're coming much sooner than they did with Caleb.

Charlie scooting himself around the porch on a skateboard

Gabrielle with her craft

Alyssa with hers, she didn't want this one in the blog, but I couldn't get the other one to upload

Mine, Caleb loves carrying it around and has already chipped it so it's been put out of reach

He's learning to smile for the camera.  It's pretty adorable.

The original taggie I got the idea and pattern from for my project from Bubbles and Bobbins

My version of it. I know it's not perfect, but it's cute and I like him.
Byron was able to scale up my pattern so it's about 50% bigger than the one depicted above.
Each plate has a different texture, the red one has beads in it, the orange one is crinkly, the yellow one has stitching on it, the blue one has a bell in it, and the purple one has buttons sewn on, and the green fabric is felt so it's really soft.
Hopefully my nephew loves it.  I know Caleb and Charlie do hahahaha.
