This is the Post That Never Ends

Yes it goes on and on my friends...

I had a lot I wanted to write about this week so the post got really long, which should mean a ton of pictures but when I get busy, I tend to forget where I put my camera last, so I'll try to make up for it with a short post and a ton of pictures next week hahaha.

Caleb:  He's had a busy week, getting signed up for the summer reading program at the library and running around with me to keep busy.  He can now pick his own cereal in the morning, and won't eat anything we pick for him.  He loves playing in the water, and pushing his lawn mower around the yard...and the house.  He's growing up so quickly and I love spending time with him.  Friday we spent time with my cousin Katrina and her new baby and Caleb wanted to hold the baby as much as I did.  He did get to spend a couple minutes on the couch with his arms around her, but got extremely irritated when I didn't let him have her whenever he wanted.  He was supposed to have his 6 month wellness check with the ENT this week but when I got to the office they told me I had cancelled it, so that's been rescheduled for next week.

Byron:  He's stayed pretty busy at work this week but I don't really know with what, since his company sent out an email stating that they have a "non-disclosure" agreement in a lot of their contracts so he doesn't talk about specifics with anything anymore.  He just talks about "documentation" and different computer programs he's working with and learning about.  The weather has been pretty mild in the mornings so his bike rides have been nice, and Tuesday we had a nice picnic at the park with him and he and Caleb played.  That evening he started putting up some new curtain rods for me since Caleb had bent the ones that we had up before and got quite frustrated with the lack of quality screws (2 of them broke off in the wall while was using a screwdriver) and he had to wait until he could borrow a drill to finish the project.

Arielle:  My parents were at Myrtle Beach this week so I spent a lot of time trying to stay busy.  Monday morning I went over there first thing and spent time at the house watching them pack and taking Lyss to the store so pick up some snacks they could have for the trip.  She did a great job keeping Caleb happy while I figured out how to get the most for the budget, and is getting pretty good at driving.  Tuesday Caleb and I got to do lunch with Byron, which is a special treat I love having when the weather is nice.  Thursday we went to the library and ran into 2 other families from church signing their children up for the summer reading club.  Caleb got to pick out a stack of new books to bring home and we got drenched on the way out to the car.  It was pouring so even though I was parked in a great spot, Caleb and I both changed when we got home.  That night I finally started (and even got to finish) the blessing dress I was making for Katrina's baby.  I didn't have a tutorial, just a picture of what I would like the end project to look like, and even though it turned out way different, I love it even more than the original idea and I can't wait to see Gracie Mae on her blessing day.  Friday I got to go to my Aunt Liz's house and we had lunch and our own mini "baby shower" for Katrina.  I got to give Katrina the dress I made for Gracie Mae and Liz had gotten her a couple nice outfits and an adorable coat she can wear this winter in Rexburg.  We had a delicious lunch that Aunt Liz put together and cake to celebrate Gracie Mae's birth, and the boys had a great time running around while we got to talk and spend time together.

In General:  We've kept super busy as a family this week too.  Tuesday night I picked Byron up from work and we went to Adventure Reef as a family.  Caleb enjoyed playing in the water and we used a coupon on the way home for a  free milkshake at Chick-fil-A that we all shared.  Wednesday and Thursday night we had the Elder's from our ward here for dinner.  Wednesday they had been on exchanges and one of their zone leaders was here so they had ridden their bikes (on the hottest day this week) all the way to Centerville (a 45 minute bike ride from their apartment) and then to our house for dinner, even after we offered them a ride.  I was impressed.  Thursday was kind of a last minute invitation, we found out they weren't going anywhere for dinner the next day so we invited them to join us since Caleb loves having them over so much.  Friday night we had a couple from our ward over for dinner.  They brought dessert and we played some games after Caleb went to bed.  It was great spending time with them and Byron and I are going to try having game nights once a month or so with some couples from the ward.  Saturday my family was back!!!! About half the family was badly burnt after spending almost a whole day outside with no sunblock (it was overcast and they didn't feel the sun burning them) so Byron helped my dad give some blessings and we spent time hearing about their vacation and all the cool, fun things they got to do.  It was great spending time their again and seeing how happy and excited everyone was.  We hit a couple of garage sales as well (Byron and I counted at least 15 yard sale signs yesterday on our way to various places) but didn't find anything we were looking for.  (We had decided ahead of time not to get anything we didn't have a need for)  We went to Adventure Reef again, this time with my cousins Samantha and Katrina and her 2 children.  Katrina stayed out of the water with Gracie Mae, but I think Sam and Carson had a great time running around.  We didn't stay very long since the sky just kept getting darker and when it started sprinkling it got cold, but the time we did have was fun and we were glad to have gone.  For dinner we got to use some coupons for dinner at Chick-fil-A and went to Cox Arboretum afterwards to feed the fish.  We drew a huge crowd of wildlife and people and it was funny to hear all the things the children around us were saying as parents took pictures of the various turtles and the huge Koi and catfish in the pond.  Caleb got really excited when the ducks got super close to us trying to get their share of the bread and after the bread ran out we went for a nice walk around the gardens.

Baby David:  He's gotten extremely active this week, or he's just big enough that I feel even the smallest movements now.  Friday I'm pretty sure he was having a dance party on my way home because he was jumping all around while I had music playing but during the breaks between songs he got pretty still.  I'm officially into my 3rd trimester and this week I"ll have my glucola test.  I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is going and am looking forward to the end.

The orchids my mom got me over a year ago - finally blooming again

This picture was taken especially for my brother David -
In the last letter I received he asked me not to let Caleb grow up a "city slicker"
so here, Caleb is sporting the cow-boy boots my mom got for him and an outfit almost
identical to the one David is wearing in his senior pictures.

Swinging - I think he would do this all day if we let him

The original idea behind the blessing dress

The final project
I had originally cut it in a way I thought would give me the ability to make the "marshmallow" bottom, but then found the fabric wasn't wide enough so I added another piece of fabric in the back that became the train.  I think it added a measure of grace and elegance to the dress and I'm so excited about it.

I love the trim around the waist, and had a little extra I got to make her a head band with.
