Life is the Bubbles

We've had a fun filled week here in the Boulton household, hopefully you'll have fun reading about it. :)

Caleb:  He's doing pretty well this week.  He constantly surprises us by spitting words out, then never saying them again.  I've even gone so far as to try "treat training" with him to get him to say Granny (if you ever need a lesson in bad parenting 101, my blog is the best place to go haha).  It's taking a while and is a constant battle of wills, he doesn't get a skittle unless he says it, and hasn't been getting candy in any other form so he gets angrier and angrier that I won't just give in.

Byron:  He's had a rather good week at work.  Tuesday he was on base to do some presentation for training, then Wednesday he was a trainee (BerrieHill will be in charge of the training next year so he and a couple other co-workers were responsible for learning about how the training's have been set up in the past).  Thursday he attended a Developer's Meeting that went from 8:30-4.  He was excited to get out of work that day and when he was getting ready to go into work Friday his statement was "Yay! I'll get to work on stuff today!" (Can you tell he loves his job?)

Arielle:  I've thoroughly enjoyed my week.  Monday I went with my parents to drop Alyssa, Gabrielle, and our cousin Samantha off at EFY (Especially for Youth, a week long church camp for LDS teenagers) in Cincinnati, then went to the Newport Aquarium.  They've changed a lot of their exhibits since I was there a few months ago and it just keeps getting more fun every time we go.  Tuesday I got to take my mom with me to KCMA (Kettering College of Medical Arts) and be a pregnant volunteer for their ultra-sound labs.  It was awesome. Wednesday, and Thursday I spent the day with my parents as well.  I can't remember everything we did, but we had fun.  Friday I spent the morning with them then brought Chandler home to spend the afternoon with me.  He watched a movie while Caleb and I napped then I took him to get some new sneakers (found a great pair on clearance!!!) and a birthday present for a friend whose party he was attending the next day.

In General: We have had a really fun week.  Tuesday night I got to watch Amber, Roger, and Amelia so my parents could go to a wedding reception, then Thursday I picked Byron up from work about 15 minutes early and we headed to the pool. It was a little on the chilly side that evening, but we enjoyed the time in the water and Caleb jumped off the wall a couple times for Granny.  Friday night Chandler babysat so we could go on a date and even though we pretty much just ran errands, it was nice to act like a childless couple for a couple of hours.  Saturday morning we were up bright and early to pick Alyssa and Gabrielle up from EFY.  We took them to IHOP for breakfast then went to the aquarium.  Byron hadn't been there in a while and we had a good time walking around and appreciated having 2 energetic teenagers to chase down Caleb (we weren't allowed to have a stroller that day).  After we finally took them home we came home for naps ourselves and prepared for our weekend guests.  My Uncle Alden's parents were meeting him here in Ohio for the weekend to be there for one of his daughters baptism, and they were going to be staying with us a couple of nights.  They're super nice and Caleb liked playing with Brother Stradling a lot.  Today after church we came home for lunch and naps before getting up and getting ready to go to Amelia and Marian's baptism.  I made some cookies and Byron vacuumed out the car because we thought Alyssa and one of her co-workers were going to be riding with us (her friend was unable to make it last minute) but the car looks a million times better.  The baptisms were beautiful, each girl dressed in white and glowing with happiness.  There were a lot of people there and 2 or 3 investigators, plus 2 of my parents non-member neighbors, and the spirit was so strong and beautiful.  I loved being there and am so grateful my sister and cousin made such an incredibly important decision.

David:  6 more weeks!!! At the ultra sound on Tuesday I got some 3D images of him and he's going to be such a beautiful baby.  I can't wait to meet him!  His head is already 33 mm (15") around, which is about 10 cm in diameter, he's head down, and he doesn't have much room.  He spent most of the hour we were in there with his hands in front of his face and it was nap time so he wasn't moving much, but I was so happy to see him, and it was really nice having my mom there to see it too.

Well, I suppose that's all for this week.  Can't wait to hear from each of you! I look forward to your various emails every week.  Cheerio!

The blanket I made for David,
I finally added the finishing touches I wanted on it this week
(Can you tell I've been in a bit of a crafty mood lately??)
It's not perfect, this was my first time stitching words onto fabric, doing applique AND using blanket binding,
but it will do. :)

I hand stitched part of a primary song onto the star then appliqued it to the blanket

The first verse is as follows:

"Every star is different, and so is every child,
some are bright and happy
and others meek and mild
everyone is needed, for just what he can do,
you're the only person, who ever can be you."

(My original plan was to cross stitch a teddy bear on it, but things changed)

My handsome little man

Here's his adorably little fist.  I can't wait to see him!!!
Here is the 3D image of David's face they were able to capture for me

Caleb was trying to help Alyssa pull her suit case up the hill.
He did alright, but was taking to long hahaha

Here's a link to the song I got this week's blog title from.  :)
