Wild Thing, You Make My Heart Sing

So it's been about 2 weeks since my last blog post, and rather than try to remember enough to write 2 separate posts, I'm going to combine them and hope for the best...

David: He's almost 2 months old! I can't believe how time has flown. He was starting to thin out a little bit as he got a longer body, but he had a couple of days where he was eating every hour or so during the day and he got super chunky again. I'm guessing he's going through a growth spurt, but I don't know anything about how big he is right now. He still sleeps a lot at night, even if I don't, and I'm so grateful that I have a reliable bedtime at such an early age. :) The ladies in the childcare at the Y absolutely love him and rave about what a “perfect little angel” he is every time I go in to get him.

Caleb: The title this week is in honor of Caleb.  Last night he was running all over the living room and throwing himself all over the place laughing like a maniac the whole time.  It was overwhelming and adorable at the same time. hahaha He's hitting that terrible two phase a couple months early. He's found the pitch that makes me cringe when he screams and uses it to try and coerce me into giving him everything he wants, but sometimes I'm able so be more bull headed than he is and he gives up when it starts hurting his throat. I'm trying to figure out how to teach him it's not okay to hit, and changing his diapers has become a fight that makes me want to start the potty training process every time I have to do it, but I'm still nervous so I haven't. He loves his baby brother though and is very sweet and loving so long as he's getting his way. He can communicate well enough with me, since I spend all day with him and understand his “words”, to get his point across about 80% of the time and I love hearing him try to say words like tractor, plane, and shoes. We started putting him in the crib again about 2 weeks ago since he had decided it was totally okay to play in his room until he was too tired to move (which usually hit about 11 pm) So far he's been getting to sleep a little earlier, but he's still not going to sleep as soon as we put him down, so we've got to work on that a little longer.

Byron: I suppose there's not much going on for him right now. He's working on converting some documents to a different format at work, loves the cooler weather, even though it means he needs more time to get ready in the morning and has layers to bring home in the evening. His team won their soccer game yesterday 3-0 (their first win since the 2nd game of the season) and if they win their game today, they'll be going to tournament (I'm kind of hoping they don't. I'm a little burnt out.) He took one evening last week to organize his scout closet since it still had paper work from boys I was in Sunday school with and everything was just thrown in pellmell and currently has the Miamisburg wards camping gear in the garage since the shed is a mess too. Byron did a great job taking care of the boys by himself last Saturday and even managed to get a little mowing done that day.

Arielle: Life is wonderful. Tuesday of last week my parents came over and fixed a couple of small things around the house and got a new grate for the fireplace as a house “warming” gift hahaha. I've been loving water zumba, wishing soccer season were over, and trying to keep up with cleaning. I'm pretty sure our laundry is multiplying and replenishing in the laundry room and can't believe that adding 1 little baby has almost doubled my weekly laundry load. Yesterday I went shopping for a weeks worth of groceries for maybe the 2nd time since David was born, and am pretty proud of myself for that. Oh the accomplishments of a mother. :) Last Saturday I worked for my mom as a lead photographer at a wedding since she had 2 booked for the weekend and needed a second crew. The bride told us the wrong start time for the ceremony, so things got a little hairy right before the ceremony and I missed the pictures of everyone coming down the aisle into the chapel, but I think everything else went smoothly enough that they will have a beautiful album to remember their special day. This week I've been trying to stay out of my mom's hair as she went through all the wedding pictures from last weekend, so after water Zumba on Tuesday I spent time with a friend of mine that loves my babies before heading home for naps. Tuesday a lady in my parents ward gave us a small propane grill that I can't wait to use and Friday my Grandma and Mom stopped by after they went out for my mom's birthday lunch. Caleb loved having them here and was sad to see them go.

In General: Our weeknights have been pretty average, with awesome FHE's after soccer practice on Monday nights with my family, and dinner and cleaning before bedtime the rest of the nights. Thursday was a bit of a switch up when we got Gabrielle to come watch the boys and we went to dinner with Byron's co-workers. I had Thai food for the second time ever and we enjoyed chatting with everyone while they got to know a new co-worker from California. Byron's boss is one of the nicest people ever and every time I see him I'm surprised by how genuinely he seems to care about our family. Saturday after Chandler's soccer game we met my parents and Grandma Wilson at a park in Springboro for a picnic before Gabrielle's game. We didn't end up staying for the game since it was nap-time, but it was really nice to see my Grandma and I'm looking forward to seeing both her and Grandpa when they come up for David's baby blessing next month.

So, I know there are some gaps, but I think it's gotten long enough, so I hope you all are doing well and I can't wait to hear from each of you. Enjoy your week!
