I
thought about trying to go back to my weekly format for this post
since we've been together all week, but found that this is a much
more appealing read. :)
David: This week's title is all thanks to David. Boy does this baby know how to sleep. I feel I've been rather
spoiled by his 2-4 hour stretches of sleep between feedings each
night (and day) and am so grateful for the ability I've had to get most of a full nights rest and a naptime every day. I'm afraid to get comfortable
with them though, and keep waiting for the sleepless nights I
remember having with Caleb. I love looking at him as he's starting
to open his eyes more, was thrilled to discover a small dimple in his
right cheek yesterday, and enjoyed re-discovering how downy soft his
hair is after giving him a sponge bath Friday morning.
Caleb:
He's been quite a ham this week. It took me an entire 4 days to
figure out
he was going stir crazy after only having left the house twice, and
would relentlessly bring us his sandals, thinking that if we put his
shoes on we would be leaving. He's enjoyed giving kisses to David at
every given opportunity and thinks he should be allowed to carry him
around as well. I have found him on several different occasions
trying to use my breast pump on his stomach, which is actually kind
of cute, and he loved having some visitors come over and play this
week.
Byron:
He's been an incredibly
helpful husband doing all of the up and down running to different
levels of the house for whatever I needed, changing a billion
diapers, making
trips to the store, and
being wonderfully supportive when I would cry for no reason other
than being tired.
He
logged in to work from home for an hour or so on Wednesday and
Friday, and managed to make it in to the office for about 3 ½ hours
on Thursday during lunch and nap time, but hasn't complained once
about how much he's been staying home and is always grateful when I
explain just how helpful he's being since there are no visual
reminders that my body is going through a healing process. Tuesday
and Thursday evenings he and Chandler headed to soccer practice.
Thursday they had a volunteer come work with their team who is a
former semi-professional and professional soccer player from England,
and Gabrielle and Caleb joined them at the park to watch,
play, and give me a relaxing evening at home with David.
Arielle:
I've been so incredibly blessed. I love spending time with my boys
and marvel at how different Caleb and David are from each other all
the time, yet both are still incredibly cute children. I can't wait
to see what David looks like as he gets older. Naptime
has been made 100% mandatory around here since I'm adjusting to a new
sleep schedule though and no one likes a Dragoness Mommy. :)

General:
Noteworthy
events
for this week include:
Monday:
- Decadent 9¢ cupcakes from a bakery
- They were running specials every day this week to celebrate being at their location for 9 years.
- FHE at Cox Arboretum with my family
Wednesday:
- Aunt Liz, and her sons Logan, and Westley coming over to visit, play, and meet baby David
- Going over to spend time with Granny, Grandad and all the aunts and uncles there
- David's circumcision being performed
Friday:
- Granny and Uncle Charlie coming to visit
- My friends Jackie and Cheyenne coming to visit while Cheyenne is home from BYU-I (she's only got a week left in Ohio and she gets really busy visiting with all of her friends and family)
- Taking some pictures of David and Caleb after naptime on Friday.
Saturday:
- Byron's first soccer game as assistant coach!
- The team had no subs and still managed a 5-0 win. :)
- Chandler was a great goalie and scored 2 of the 5 goals
- My daddy managed to block a rogue soccer ball from hitting me in the head.
- 99¢ gourmet cupcakes from the same bakery, plus 3 free cupcakes that Caleb got to decorate, which involved him picking out which icing colors I would put on the cupcakes. I was surprised to find he was adamant that the pink icing was not allowed on his cupcakes. Only the green, orange, and blue.
Sunday:
- My first week going to Sunday school with Byron in months, after being released from Primary
- Byron's family birthday dinner
- Only seeing David to nurse almost the last 2 hours of church after handing him off to be passed around.
Byron didn't tell me he was going to get in the shower so I took a little too long coming up from the basement and was met with this sight...
His face after I took David away
Playing with the baby's blanket
The next 4 pictures are from the "photo shoot" I had with the boys Friday afternoon
Caleb trying to use my pump on his stomach
