This week has been another one of mild
temperatures, scattered rain, sunshine, love, and family.
Caleb:
This week he's proven he's quite proficient with a fork, though he
still struggles with the concept of a spoon, and is becoming a little
more independent. Today he was a stinker for pictures, but my
awesome Mommy managed to get him to look cute anyway and he's been
doling out hugs like they're going out of style.
Byron:
He's been working hard. Tuesday his end of month report was due and
he managed to get it in by the end of his regular work day and didn't
have to stay at work longer to finish any formatting, which was kind
of a big thing since he lost all of his cross references Monday
afternoon. He's enjoyed riding his bicycle to and from work, but let
me drop him off and pick him up Friday since he had a short work day
and I was going to be close by anyway.
Arielle:
I've had so much fun this week. Monday
I took our car up to my Uncle in Huber Heights to get the brakes
changed. I was so grateful that he was willing to do the job for the
price of parts after Tire Discounters gave me a rather hefty quote,
and had a good time chatting with my Aunt Corrie and their 8 year old
daughter Brea while he worked. I was also excited to receive a
package of items I had ordered from LDS.org that day. Caleb has since
enjoyed listening to the Childrens Song Book CD's and having his own
scriptures (a pocket size Book of Mormon) to read from each night. I
also got a picture of a temple and of Christ for each bedroom and
just need a couple of picture frames so I can put them up. Thursday one of my old visiting teachers came over with her 3 boys
and spent the morning baking with me, cleaning up after, and talking to me. She gave
me an open invitation to come over and get naps every day after the
baby comes and I am so grateful for such an awesome friend. She is
definitely a blessing. Friday morning I ran some
errands with my Mommy and got my paperwork started for my Family
Beginnings registration. I have an appointment with them for
Wednesday to get my preregistration taken care of and there are some consent forms I I have to have signed beforehand. I got to spend the
afternoon with my cousin Katrina and her 2 little angels before
picking Byron up from work. I was excited to have her over and the
day was nice and relaxing.
In General:
Monday evening we had a
short family home evening after I got home from Uncle Jason's and
admired the work Byron had done in the yard while we were gone.
Wednesday evening Byron's sister Melissa stopped for the night on her
way to a conference in Cleveland and helped me make dinner and lemon
zucchini bread. She then helped me with some weeding in the front
flower bed while Byron and his co-worker/neighbor/friend with a truck
drove to Vandalia where they picked up a (free!!!) chest freezer from
one of my friend's co-workers. They said it was too big for them and
were happy to find someone who could use it. We're super excited to
have it, but it's much bigger than we thought it was going to be so
we haven't plugged it in yet. Thursday we enjoyed an evening at home
while my mom and dad used the car to get to various soccer practices
since the brakes on their reliable van started locking up. Byron
played around with some program or another he's been looking into for
calendaring, and I enjoyed finishing my book. Friday night we went
out for dinner and to a temple session with my parents. We hadn't
planned on going again so soon, but I'm SO glad we did. I love the
spirit in the temple and being there with my parents was a special
treat. Saturday morning I got up early and started getting ready for
a family maternity shoot my mom had agreed to. She's seriously the
best photographer ever and I am so blessed she loves me. :) When we
were done we went to a baptism for one of Byron's home teaching
families before getting to go back and look at the pictures. I loved
them ALL and had a seriously hard time winnowing them down to put on
facebook, much less picking a select few for the blog, but
I managed and hope you enjoy looking at them. Today was Baby
Gracie's baby blessing and we went to Eaton Branch to be a part of
it. I was so excited to see her in the dress I made and to be at
church with so much family was pretty awesome. I can't wait for
Heaven where we're all
going to be family. It's going to be a pretty incredible feeling.
Afterwards we all got together for dinner at Grandma and Grandpa
Lane's house. The food was great, the company was wonderful, and I
am so grateful to live so close to so much family.
David:
Wednesday was my 36 week appointment and when they measured me I was
measuring at 39! He's going to be a pretty big baby and I'm praying
that the delivery comes early and goes well. :)
Anytime
soon
after this Wednesday would be ideal actually. (I have to be at least
37 weeks to deliver in Family Beginnings). My Mom and Dad have
started guessing and right now I'm hoping the first of Gabrielle's
two picks (the 9th
or 17th)
are accurate.
I
suppose that's all for this week. Enjoy the coming week and all it
has to offer! We love you all and can't wait to hear from each of
you. Cheerio!
