This week has been
filled with beautiful weather, chores, lots of family time, and not nearly enough sleep. Naptime and I really should never stop being friends. :)
David:
He's a month old as of Tuesday! I can't believe how time is flying.
He's still sleeping really well. He's a voracious eater, and seems
to have grown overnight. He no longer fits in newborn clothes, but
stayed in them 2 weeks longer than Caleb did, looks pretty dang cute
110% of the time. He loves to be loved on and will fall asleep on
just about anyone so long as he's eaten recently enough, and “sings”
as he sleeps making little humming sounds with each exhale. My
favorite are the sleepy grins and giggles he gives us though.
They're totally sporadic, which makes them that much sweeter.
Caleb:
He's starting to talk more with each passing day. This week he
started saying baby, and will copy almost any word we say now. I
almost got him to say Granny once this week, and I'm almost 100%
certain he said Grandad at one point. He
can point to his chin, nose, ears, mouth, hair, arms, and legs are
when you ask him and loves
loves loves
being read to.
Friday night he got to skype a little bit with Grandma and Grandpa
Boulton and when trying to say Grandpa, said “Papa” instead,
which I thought was kind of cute since that's what his cousin Carl
calls Grandpa Boulton. He's starting to outgrow his 18 mos clothes,
is a little clumsy as he tries to get used to his longer legs, and
loves
shoes about as much as his Aunt Alyssa, which is pretty serious.
Byron:
He was released as an elders quorum teacher and called as the ward
scout master last Sunday, so Tuesday he went and met all of the boys
and kind of got to know them a little bit. He's already been
contacted by a brother in the ward about a service project for the
troop to do in December, and we were glad to find I didn't get rid of
his scout shirt and handbook in the move. He's been enjoying work
and the
cooler weather that's starting to settle, which makes his bike rides
more enjoyable since he's not sweating profusely when he gets to work
in the mornings. Thursday night he skipped soccer practice to help a
family in our ward move, and Saturday his game was cancelled after
the league found out they had accidentally booked games at fields
that were being used for a different leagues championships. He's a
little apprehensive about practices this week since the coach will be
out of town and he'll be planning drills and such on his own for the
boys to do. I think he'll do a great job though, and I'm proud he
didn't just suggest canceling them.
Arielle:
I've had a really fun week. Monday a friend of mine from church
came over and helped me get some serious
cleaning
done. The house looks great and I'm so grateful to have a friend
with so much energy to help me get things back in order. Tuesday
morning I got to play tennis with my parents, and spent most of every
day the rest of the week at their house. I did manage to take naps a
couple afternoons, but am discouraged that Caleb still won't go down
for naps unless I get him to fall asleep in the car first. Saturday
I spent the day doing hair for Alyssa and Gabrielle since it was the
night of homecoming (they went to the church dance. Yea for
standards!) and they looked wonderful.
In
General:
Monday night we had a wonderfully fun FHE after soccer practice with
my parents and siblings again. I got to do the lesson this time, and
we enjoyed cookies and a fun game called “Kitty run to corner”
where everyone but 1 person has a “corner” they're sitting at and
the person who's it yells “kitty run to corner” and you have to
run to a different corner while they try to get a seat. Who ever is
left standing is “it” and you keep going until everyone is too
tired to play. We were playing with cement tables and I was
impressed we didn't end up with any injuries. I totally expected to
crash into a table and end up with a bruise worth bragging about, but
managed to avoid it. :) Friday night we went to dinner at CFA before
skyping with Byron's parents, and Saturday evening we went to get a
double stroller I found on craigslist so I could start taking the
boys for walks during the day since carrying David in a carrier for
long periods of time isn't all that comfortable. Today
we had our home teacher over in the late afternoon before heading to
a friends house for dinner. She was my visiting teacher when we were
part of the Centerville ward, and loves having me around so she can
hold my babies. They have a daughter that's a senior in high school,
and 3 boys ages 11, 8, and 5 or 6. We had a great time talking with
them and Caleb enjoyed getting to run around with the big boys.
Well,
that's all the news I have for this week. I loved getting everyone's weekly emails and reading about what's going on in your parts of the world.
Love
and hugs!

This is a new song from Bruno Mars that Alyssa and I love to dance to in the car when I'm driving her to work. :)
