Caleb: This week he's been my little sick-o. He had a really snotty nose and a fever, which I thought might just be teething related, but as I heard him start coughing the same way as his aunts and uncles, I figured it was time to take him to the doctor, so Tuesday I did just that. Turns out he had RSV, a dangerous respiratory infection for infants/toddlers and my pediatrician told me he had already seen 10 children hospitalized for it, one even had to go to the ICU, so I stocked up on some Zarbees (a natural cough relieving supplement for infants 2 mos & up made from Agave nectar) and a little noses stuffy nose kit and made poor Caleb even more miserable. He does NOT like having a bulb syringe anywhere near his nose and hasn't liked laying on his back since being "attacked" with it...but he soon stopped wheezing and was more willing to eat afterwards so I figure I'm not the worst mom of the year, and kept doing it until his nose was no longer a faucet.
Byron: He's been the best husband/father of the year, letting me hide in the other room while he did Caleb's suctioning treatment a couple of times (listening to Caleb cry is really hard when I'm tired) and is having fun at work doing a ton of reports of all different kinds.
Arielle: My week has been great aside from having a sick-o baby. This afternoon I got to go to a GLO (girls lunch out) with my mommy and a few other women from Centerville and Miamisburg wards. Caleb slept through the whole thing on my friend's lap (which absolutely made her day) and Monday I got to go and get fabric to make Gabrielle a skirt similar to the dresses I made Amber and Amelia. I haven't started on it quite yet, but I plan to get it done this weekend.
In General: Thursday evening the elders came for dinner and we had a good time eating and chatting with them. After dinner we headed to the church to get our stake temple recommend interviews only to find out we were there the wrong night, apparently they hold them the 4th or last Thursday of the month so we were a week early - go figure. Tonight we're looking forward to a couple from the Centerville ward coming over to play games. We were supposed to have them over on New Years Eve but had to cancel on account of being sick, so we finally rescheduled. Our most exciting news (for us) is that we're moving at the end of May! My parents have agreed to let us rent their home in Miamisburg (the one I spent all of my teen years in) and we are so excited. We keep talking about all the things that will be great about living there (fresh fruit in the summer from my mom's peach trees, a garage we can park Byron's bicycle and the car in, more storage space, more living space, an awesome neighborhood, etc.)

| The dress I made for Amber last week |
| The dress I made for Amelia last weekend Here is the Link (click on the work "link" I don't know why it doesn't show up blue for you guys.) to the tutorial I found on pinterest for making these dresses. The only problem I found was there her method of using the "radius" to cut the circle for the waist made it a little big, so round down almost a whole inch in order to get it right, I used a 4 in. radius on Amber's and had to cut about 4 inches out of the back, and used a 3.5 in radius on Amelia's which was just about perfect - also, I used a 45 in material for Amber which also would have ended up working for Amelia with where I sewed the skirt to the t-shirt, but if you're doing it for a taller girl, between 10 and 12 years old, you'll have to use a 60 in apparel fabric. (for just below the knee length skirts) |
