Caleb: He's growing, oh so fast, and got to spend his first official day in shoes yesterday. He kept them on pretty well for the most part, and walked into the church building and Kroger. The walk into Kroger was a little long though so we ended up swinging him along to make things go faster.
Byron: He's had a boring week at work writing his end of month report, but he enjoyed learning a couple new things and is so proud of Caleb and his shoe wearing ability.
Arielle: Monday I went to Wal-Mart and bought some cute spring print fabrics they had on clearance to make dresses for Amber and Amelia. I got Amber's finished Monday night, but didn't start Amelia's until Tuesday morning (it was finished before lunch though! I love how easy they are) I tried a new method with the bottom to make it easier to hem, cutting it square instead of circle, and at first when you look at it you think I did something wrong, but after you notice it's on purpose it's pretty cute. At lunch on Tuesday I gave a haircut to an elder in our ward. He had a meeting with the mission president the next day and his hair was a little shaggy. Thursday I watched the Williams' children and we made Snickerdoodle cookies, colored, and played. I watched a Barbie movie with them for the first time in ages and remembered why I had liked them. Yes, they are corny, but they're still cute, and sometimes they can teach you something. Friday afternoon I went to my friend Kiera's house and we had lunch and talked. It's good spending time with her and Caleb had fun.
In General: Friday evening we went on a double date with a couple we do game nights with and had such a good time. We had gotten Chandler to babysit and he was spending the night so we didn't have to worry about getting home at a certain time. We met them for dinner before going and playing games with them. We ended up playing a game called "Pandemic" and beat the game in just 2 rounds. This is kind of an accomplishment since there is a little bit of luck involved. :)
For those of you who don't know Pandemic, it's a people vs. the board kind of game. You each have a role such as researcher, dispatcher, medic, etc and with that role you have a special skill set that helps you fight against these "diseases" that are breaking out all over the world. As you play the game, all of the people playing work together to try to find the cure for all 4 of the colors before there are too many "disease" pieces on the board. It's pretty fun.
Saturday we went to a baptism for a family in the Centerville ward, their 8 year old was being baptized and it was such a special experience. He was a little afraid of the water, so after not being completely submerged the first 2 times, he was nervous and didn't want to do it again, so everyone in attendance sang "I am a Child of God" to help bring the spirit back. It was so moving, and I was so grateful for all the support this young boy received on his special day.
